Not really very happy with these pieces except the last one, but it’s been a long time since I painted landscapes let alone in the vein of concept art.
What a week. Jeez. Last week I had a fishy catastrophe. My 40 gallon freshwater tank developed a leak at the very bottom seal, and basically dumped its guts on the carpet in the basement over the course of about an hour.

TagRef is a small app, similar to Gesture Drawing and TagSpaces, that allows you to organize and display your own curated reference images for practice sessions.
I got a fresh commission Wednesday, and got started on it as soon as I possibly could, because the client actually used Fangtail as part of the reference art, and I have a penchant for big tails.
This piece is going to be in my “anime” style, which I haven’t worked in in a long time.
I spent a lot of time thinking this through yesterday and a lot of time today googling solutions, so I figured I’d write a short blog post about it in case it helps anyone else out.
